Amparo has been dancing professionally for more than twenty years, both in her native Peru and here in the United States. In Peru she danced for: “Grupo Alturas,” “Pallas de Corongo,” and “Altiplano” which was one of the most recognized Peruvian troupes in the ‘80s. In New York she performed with “ Danzas y Estampas del Peru.”   Amparo was the co-founder of Ballet Folklorico Peru. Before arriving in the USA in the late 1980s, Amparo organized and promoted cultural events for the Ministry of Culture in Lima. Amparo also worked for the prestigious Teatro Municipal de Lima, as events coordinator.
